I walk eyes open into clouds
into soft dust
there’s a woman who sings in elevators
her name is Sara
a funny dream
she speaks my name
and my soul trembles
((embraced))
we reach the mountain
then slip down
into the valley
for fun
Merril is hosting dVerse Quadrille, and has asked us to write a poem of exactly 44 words featuring the word βEmbrace.β I had a dream last week pertaining to this poem. I tweeted a shorter version here on February 4th, but wanted to go back and describe the “embrace” I felt during my dream for today’s quadrille. Any dream interpreters can relay to me the meaning! π€
Beautiful!
Thanks, Lucy! π
This sounds like such a beautiful dream–to have your soul embraced! Is Sara a real person? Do you lucid dream?
I don’t know who she is and can’t exactly describe her face. I feel like she’s an angel. I don’t lucid dream but do dream a lot of places I’ve never been before. Thanks for hosting and inspiring me to revisit this one for a quadrille! π
You’re very welcome! β€οΈ
It sounds a lovely and reassuring dream, as even when you slipped it was for fun. A nice message from somewhere…..
Thanks, Beverly! Yes, it was a reassuring dream! π€
Oh yeah, Sara’s cool alright; she’s my dreamgirl, too, but mine is named, um, something else (she made me promise not to tell).
Dream on, Sister.
I’m sure all the angels flock to you! πΌ Yes, Sara’s cool, we had a few laughs! π₯°
Love the ‘hint’ of naughtiness …. cheers.
Thanks, Helen! Just good, clean fun! π
Sounds like you had a fun adventure and you weren’t alone. To figure out your dream, write down every noun in it and then build an association for each noun. How did you feel in the dream? Usually every person/place/thing in a dream is an aspect of the dreamer. Dreamworld likes to use puns, so be on the lookout for them. Try to fit the pieces together until you sense an “aha!” Best I can do to help you. Good luck!
I didn’t think of the dreamworld using puns, but I can believe that. Our subconscious is so interesting! I think in the end the message was to try to have more fun. Pandemics do make that a challenge. Thanks for your help, Lisa! π
My pleasure, Tricia π
Good dreams are worth repeating!
Yes, I agree π― A mini vacation for the mind. π
Feeling embraced is something lots of us are probably dreaming about. It is a feeling I miss giving and receiving since COVID arrived.
Yes, been suffering some quarantine blues, plus it’s so cold and I want some sunshine π. This weekend I am going to a wedding further away so maybe that will cheer me up on Valentine’s Day! β£οΈ
Tricia, this ending:
was so unexpected and playful for me – so much like a dream!
I love it π
-David
Thanks, David! We have to make time for fun! π
A gorgeous dream embrace, Tricia. I love the thought of the mountain and slipping down into the valley for fun β itβs flat where I live.
Thanks so much, Kim! β£οΈ
So intriguing! To me it speaks of the fantastic escapism of dreams…
Yes, I was somewhere fun and scenic and it was even warm! πΉπ
Oh, excellent! Sounds like just the ticket π
Beautiful piece, Tricia, and the ending id delightful!
Thanks, Eugenia! Pleased you liked it! πΉ
My pleasure! π
Dreams can mean so much … though when you talk about the valley below I think of Bob Dylan and one more cup of coffee.
Yes! They are fun to analyze, thanks Bjorn β£οΈ
A most stunning dreamscape, Tricia π It feels like a soul connection! ππ
Thanks, Sanaa! Maybe it was! π
