Embraced

I walk eyes open into clouds
into soft dust

there’s a woman who sings in elevators
her name is Sara
a funny dream
she speaks my name
and my soul trembles
((embraced))

we reach the mountain
then slip down
into the valley
for fun

Merril is hosting dVerse Quadrille, and has asked us to write a poem of exactly 44 words featuring the word β€˜Embrace.’ I had a dream last week pertaining to this poem. I tweeted a shorter version here on February 4th, but wanted to go back and describe the “embrace” I felt during my dream for today’s quadrille. Any dream interpreters can relay to me the meaning! πŸ€—

    1. I don’t know who she is and can’t exactly describe her face. I feel like she’s an angel. I don’t lucid dream but do dream a lot of places I’ve never been before. Thanks for hosting and inspiring me to revisit this one for a quadrille! πŸ’–

  1. It sounds a lovely and reassuring dream, as even when you slipped it was for fun. A nice message from somewhere…..

  2. Oh yeah, Sara’s cool alright; she’s my dreamgirl, too, but mine is named, um, something else (she made me promise not to tell).

    Dream on, Sister.

  3. Sounds like you had a fun adventure and you weren’t alone. To figure out your dream, write down every noun in it and then build an association for each noun. How did you feel in the dream? Usually every person/place/thing in a dream is an aspect of the dreamer. Dreamworld likes to use puns, so be on the lookout for them. Try to fit the pieces together until you sense an “aha!” Best I can do to help you. Good luck!

    1. I didn’t think of the dreamworld using puns, but I can believe that. Our subconscious is so interesting! I think in the end the message was to try to have more fun. Pandemics do make that a challenge. Thanks for your help, Lisa! πŸ‘

    1. Yes, been suffering some quarantine blues, plus it’s so cold and I want some sunshine 🌞. This weekend I am going to a wedding further away so maybe that will cheer me up on Valentine’s Day! ❣️

  4. A gorgeous dream embrace, Tricia. I love the thought of the mountain and slipping down into the valley for fun – it’s flat where I live.
