On Writing

The teacher told me to write

and not stop

~automatic writing~

lose myself and let go

even though the

the last idea

may hang above my head

within a

vortex of dark blue ~

it rains in time

and sometimes rhymes

just muddle through.

Today De hosts the Quadrille at dVerse where our poems must be 44 words and include the word: go.

  1. Oh I love this description, Tricia!

    ‘it rains in time

    and sometimes rhymes

    just muddle through.’

I love this type of writing. Usually I think of the first line first, but occasionally I’ve come up with the last line first and tried to find a way to it!

      1. Yes, both ways, it feels like it’s an act that is outside of our conscious mind at least. It comes from the subconscious and appears in the conscious where we write it down. Like water flowing.

  2. Perfect description of the way one cannot chase inspiration (and then there’s the part where you go back and read it, thinking, heavens that’s good, did /I/ write that?)
