Saltwater Dream

you punctured my husk

and like popcorn / I burst

accordion groans / sequestered sighs

Time

          flows

                  here

 like a

        steady

                  wave

can you uninstall my heart

from your chest?

….5 minutes to takeoff….

drifting / sifting

being alone is not hard

it’s the memories that sink

       in this saltwater

                                 dream

  1. I so enjoyed your saltwater dream, Tricia, especially the shape and layout of it, the sounds in the ‘accordion groans / sequestered sighs’, and the way the memories sink to the bottom of the poem.
