In Remembrance

setting sun
              toes in
                         water

sea-sweet wine
             as I saunter

plodding through
            knee-deep rhyme

waltzing thoughts
           turn
      back
time

you kept my
        goldfish

in your pocket
          nibbling
               dust!

         (and some
                    loose change)

Now, three quarters
                       and a dime

skip like rocks
         across
                 my mind.

Posted for dVerse Poets Pub where Bjorn
asks us to follow the beat of a waltz.
A waltz signifies any piece of music in
three quarters time. Even if I missed
a few beats, I did include
three actual quarters (and a dime!) ๐Ÿ’—

  1. Oh, so nicely done, Tricia! I love the rhythm rhyme, interwoven humour and wistfulness in this poem, especially โ€˜sea-sweet wineโ€™ and the goldfish in the pocket nibbling dust!
