Forever

I meditate on space
fold each corner into my soul

glossy and clear
~I transmute all pain~

carve a sacred symbol
that germinates

see the clever, cubed, crystal –

there’s room inside
read my invitation –

don’t be fooled by shadows
forever draws no circles

but charges
with sharp elbows

her blows pierce
and soften

~activate your center~

let’s spin on our sides
and bleed

rainbows
on walls

Sanaa is today’s host for dVerse’ Poetics. Sanaa says:
For today’s Poetics I invite you all to play a poetry game called, “Dungeons and Derivatives.” The idea here is to select one (from a list of eight sentences) and to change at least one word or more by replacing it with a derivative. Once you are done, unlock the muse from its dungeon and write a poem with the existing sentence… The sentence will change yes, after replacing a word or two with derivatives. Don’t be shy to mold it accordingly.

I chose the sentence: “Perhaps we are reading the shadows wrong; forever cannot draw a circle.” – by Sanaa Rizvi, from, Winter Moon ~ Part Three: Petals of the Sun

  3. Tricia,
“Let’s spin on our sides,” — I love the colors, the dimensions, that you evoke so effortlessly, and with style. Wonderful.
