Cracked

We scatter secrets
as seeds

trample moons
underfoot

it’s a magical climb
when logic
blurs and
beanstalks grow

Linger
in clouds
making giants

~wait~

in the center
of shadow

~jump~

only when
the golden eggs

~crack~

fly off the page

the story
won’t end.

Written for dVerse Poets Pub Let’s Linger where we are asked to write a quadrille poem of exactly 44 words and use the word “linger.”
