How tall is the grass
where Anubis plays?

The sky swallows
with a blue

~that transcends~
Where is he now?

He's just a bluebird

in a gilded cage
singing songs
in mystic tongues

When the lights go out
will the universe be forgiving?

Can time's demise
untangle etheric knots?

Or will the stars fade out,

still unaligned,
still unwilling

to unhook
and release

She had come back from burying the dead
and wanted ice-cold lemonade
and as the sun gawked above,
I promised to tell no one.

And like some pagan ritual
I removed my dirty hat
as she scrunched her sour face
