It hit me
all at once
a true epiphany
as I began to interpret
our last kiss –
your dazed eyes
slanted toward sky
then your full lips
drawn tight
Oh how unfair
life can be
when you don’t say no
to the onion rings.

Today at dVerse Linda asks us to write a Quadrille of exactly 44 words using any form of the word fair.
Oh, unfair, Tricia! But who can say no to onion rings! This kiss interpretation ended hilariously. Still laughing.

Thanks! Felt like a little humor today! π
This is sheer poetic brilliance! I can picture those onion rings, the dazed eyes and lips drawn tight.. ah well .. a kiss is still a kiss π
I tried to paint the picture with truth! π Glad you enjoyed! π
Haha! Delightful Tricia!
I enjoyed this prompt, thanks for hosting, Linda! π
Thank you for participating! I’m happy it inspired you.
hahahaheeheehahaha!

if I eat onions, we don’t even get to the kissing stage! π
Just buy some gum!! π π
This came to mind:
Regrets, I’ve had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exception
ππ Wise words, Bev! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent twist at the end! Love it
Thanks for reading! π₯°
Nothing worse than an onion kiss! Much like morning breath! Seems he did you a favor! Great poem Tricia!
Thanks, Dwight! π―
π I didnβt see that ending coming! Brilliant π€©
Thanks! I like to balance the romance with realism on my blog! π
Haha! My husband loves onions so I so get this! π
π This is how the romance dies in marriage! π
I have started eating onions too! ππ
π
Hahahaha. Mwaaaah!!!!
Thanks for reading, Ron. You won some peppermint!π¬π
…but oh, those onion rings were soooo good….
I can’t argue that! π
Such a fun poem!
Glad you enjoyed it, Phillip! π
You are funny. I love onion rings. Thanks for the laugh.
I love Sonic’s! Thanks for reading, Selma! π
β¦or the garlic bread! π§
True! This is valuable advice on my blog today, thanks Rob! π
With me it’s onions, with my wife it’s garlic. The kissing zone closes down in either case. Your levity was very welcomed.
Thanks, Glenn! Sometimes it helps to laugh at the unfairness! π
Hahaha. But the onion rings are so good!
I know! Maybe we can all just throw on a mask after eating them! π·π€£
Hahaha. Seriously, every main dish I make has onions and garlic, so there’s either kiss with it or wait till you brush your teeth. π
Definitely wait till you brush! π―
That would be my choice, too. π
Ha… what a devastating end to something that should have been perfect bliss
π I hope my readers can glean wisdom from my poetry and not experience such tragedy!
Brilliantly funny!
Thanks, Carol! π
Hahaha, what a twist in the end! Good one πππ€
So glad you enjoyed! β€οΈπβ€οΈ
