A Premonition #dVerse #Quadrille

I brave a song
let the notes soothe
bruised sky

even though my
drink is bitter
and dry

Let’s celebrate
the dawn
before dusk

I predict the rays will
spill and sway

sweetening my cup
in just the right way

as ice melts
away.

dVerse Poets Pub is back from summer break and we are celebrating 11 years of poetry at the pub!! Today Merril is hosting Quadrille Monday where we are asked to write a 44-word poem that includes the prompt word, “celebrate,” or some form of the word.

  1. Tricia,
    Great lines here,
    “I predict the rays will
    spill and sway

    sweetening my cup
    in just the right way”

Sunshine fills my cup every time.
    Wishing you lightness.
    Ali

  2. Love the opening line with I brave a song. This has such an uplifting mood, leaving me with hope that it will be a good day. Thanks for celebrating with us. Appreciate you.

  3. This is absolutely stellar writing, Tricia 😀 I love the sweetening of cup near the end! 💖🥂
