what would happen if good
and evil
traded spaces?
hell was above
and heaven below
would we strive to sin?
goodness, she says
(under her breath)
(so no one hears)
Heaven is swirling with
souls who gave
too much
sacrificed their happiness
for what?
there’s no reward?
yet, humans still fall
head over heels
into that light
where ego dies
and form dissolves
the attraction
overwhelms
we want that poison
pill that shatters
all illusion
erasing
selfish cells
in the end
the love
was just
too much.

Yes, I was thinking this, but then maybe we would feel the disconnect even that much more and secretly long for the good. I think once inundated with evil then good is desired more, but maybe there are some who would still prefer the evil. 🤔
Isn’t this happening already? We have politicians who lie and line their own pockets at the public expense, magazines that blandly report infidelities, a society that seems to value money above everything. Some great lines here. Tricia.
Yes, we are definitely getting to that point where up is down and praying it wakes us up about our values and we see the consequences and begin to choose wiser! ♥️🙏♥️
Good questions, Tricia, but who can answer them? I enjoyed the way Neil Gaiman and Terry Prachett tried in their book Good Omens, but there have been many attempts in literature, and we’re still asking the questions.

I’m with the ancient Irish on this one. No heaven, no hell, no good, no evil, no sin and no shaming. Just a place beyond death where everyone goes, to pick up the life they left, in the same world, except better, better weather and plenty to eat 🙂

Tricia, I love how you turned things on their head! I remember one of our teachers had said that evil was more attractive so that it would be able to lure people. I wonder why good id not considered attractive. Very thought provoking. ❤️

Tricia, you got me thinking about that idea. What do you think about the idea that we are already living in hell by having to endlessly hash over this impossible paradox of the relativity of things? Us arrogant humans feel so superior to every other thing, living and dead, on the planet, yet none of them are wasting a moment’s time considering any of it, they are just busy living. I think humans are the most dangerous, yet most pitiable thing ever created 😦
I can see your point, that really our ignorance is hell. It makes me think of Jesus saying “forgive them, they know not what they do,” because most don’t and that is hell. Reason for pity, yes!
Sometimes we can’t tell the difference…it’s interesting that you use the word striving. It’s such a harsh word, I can’t associate it with doing good. Trying too hard won’t work I think. Doing good should not be a sacrifice either. You raise a lot of good questions. Food for thought.
