A poem by Tricia Sankey

A tanka by ben Alexander of โ€˜The Skepticโ€™s Kaddishโ€™

lying on the floor
finished, shattered by the fall
hands limp from fatigue

  1. Feel better soon. We virused from my daughter this winter break. โ€˜Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house not a person not coughing, not even the feverish mouse. Be well soon, friend. ๐Ÿ’œ

    1. It’s been like that for so many! My twin sister’s family tested positive for Covid plus Strep A within a week! Hopefully we can all be better by New Years Eve! ๐Ÿ™

      1. Indeed. Or drunk and unable to feel any of it. ๐Ÿคฃ Okay, not the little ones. Anyways, here’s to rest. One book finished, and I’ve been avoiding any real responsibility for days. Life is truly good. I think we should all get the last few days of the year off, don’t you?

  2. Wow! What a fabulous collab and what a beautiful piece by you, Tricia!!! I love the eyes line and the ending is just MAGIC!!! Your writing just gets better and better, really well done ๐Ÿค๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

    1. Thanks! I was up in the night, half dreaming and fully sneezing, and I think it helped with the creative process! ๐Ÿคฉ Glad you didn’t think the eyes line was over-the-top too much, I have a tendency to walk that line, occasionally! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ’ซ

      1. Haha, creativity comes in the strangest ways sometimes!! Omg no, it was perfect and the detail was impeccably done. Walking that line is what makes your poetry so special ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿค—
